Aluminum alloy welding method

1. Tungsten Argon Arc Welding

Tungsten Argon Arc Welding (TIAW) is mainly used for aluminium alloy, which is a better welding method. However, TIAW equipment is complex and not suitable for open-air operation.

2. Resistance spot welding and seam welding

This welding method can be used to weld aluminium alloy sheets with thickness less than 5 mm. However, the equipment used in welding is complex, the welding current is large, and the productivity is high. It is especially suitable for parts and components produced in large quantities.

3. Pulse argon arc welding


Pulse argon arc welding can improve the stability of welding process and adjust parameters to control arc power and weld formation. The weldment has small deformation and small heat affected zone, which is especially suitable for thin plate, all-position welding, forged aluminium, hard aluminium and superhard aluminium with strong heat sensitivity.

Notices for Aluminum Alloy Welding

1. Before welding aluminium alloy, the surface of aluminium alloy should be cleaned up. There should be no oil and dust. The surface of aluminium alloy welding can be cleaned by acetone. Thick aluminium alloy plate should be cleaned by steel wire brush, and then by acetone.

2. When welding aluminium alloy, the surface of aluminium alloy should be cleaned first, and no soot, dust and so on. In addition, thick plate aluminium alloy should be cleaned with wire brush, and then with acetone.

3. If the plate can be preheated after comparison, it can prevent the inadequate preheating from making the weld impermeable. When arc closing, small current arc closing should be used to fill the pit.

4. Welding must be standardized. Welding should be done according to the thickness of sheet metal.

5. Welding torch cable should not be too long, if too long will cause wire feeding stability.
